Life is actually a computer simulation. Elon Musk said it the other day.

We are the protagonists, the Super Mario, the Lara Croft, the person in Resident Evil.

And it’s supposed to be fun. It’s about playing the game. Exploring and using the tools, and choosing the game. It’s about exploring the spaces in human imagination. Both the cool and scary ones. Anything we can imagine.

We get to replay the level until we get it right. And then we move on to higher levels.

The whole ides is to play more in life, enjoy and detach ever so often. Because we are souls having human experience.

Do the silly things that make you happy. Celebrate life more.

My life improved immensely since I started dancing, singing and writing regularly. Life is a joy when I am creative.

“When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way”. Wayne Dyer

Are you doing what makes you feel alive? How committed are you to it?

2. There are two choices how to play life

We can do it from the struggling, painful, resisting, complaining lane.

Or we can do it in an allowing, grateful, learning lane where we accept everything that is happening to us no matter how difficult it is, knowing that it is for our higher good. Only then it becomes easy.

‘The moment you accept what troubles you’ve been given, the door will open’, Rumi

To me that is like stepping into the larger world beyond one-self.

It’s about connecting with the spirit that has always been present, we just haven’t notices. We seemed to be frozen in negative beliefs and thought patterns, learned ways of living.

But those can be thawed away.

What is that better path like, you will ask?

3. Let the life live you

It’s about relaxing into the game of life, allowing life to guide you. Even when it’s difficult, don’t give into resistance. Keep allowing.

“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?”, Rumi

A friend of mine calls it becoming a member of the Church of Perpetual Astonishment, being in the constant state of observing. Not taking anything personally or making conclusions, but being constantly surprised.

He says, are you breathing on purpose or is the breathing done by something/somebody else?

We should let life guide us to be the protagonists.

4. Listen to your inner compass to game up

“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more”, Tony Robbins

You probably noticed this certain distant awareness, of the focus and purpose you were to achieve since you were born.

In this dormant, deep inner knowing there was something making you unhappy if you were steering away from it.

Jack Canfield in his book ‘The Success Principles’, talking about habits and thoughts of successful people, mentions knowing and following your life purpose is number one pre-requisite for success.

Many authors including Canfield talk about the inner guidance system that tells us if we are on or off our purpose by the amount of joy we are experiencing.

Things that bring us the greatest joy are in alignment with our purpose.

List all the times that you felt the most joyful, and find out what is the common ground in those experiences.

The great spirit is always with us, watching over us, believing in us, nudging us, until we are ready to start living what we came here to do.

Listen.

5. Your strength is in your routine

The paradox seems to be as Socrates pointed it out and Steven Pressfield spelled it out in his book the War of Art, the truly free individual is free only to the extent of his own self mastery.

“The reason I exercise is for the quality of life I enjoy”. Kenneth H. Cooper

Keeping the body healthy, meditating, being grateful are some of the rules to prepare well for the game of life.

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him”. Buddha

Your strength is in your routine, find a routine and stick with it, says Eric Thomas. I keep a discipline so that I can have more freedom in my life.
